Shampoo Alone Isn't Enough: The Full Bathing Routine
The right shampoo is the foundation — but a great oodle bath routine involves a few extra steps that make a big difference:
- Brush before bathing. Always detangle your oodle's coat before getting it wet. Wet mats tighten and become significantly harder to remove.
- Wet the coat thoroughly. Oodle coats are dense — take your time to ensure water penetrates all the way to the skin before applying shampoo.
- Work shampoo in sections. Apply shampoo from neck to tail, massaging it gently into the coat and down to the skin. Don't scrub in circles, which causes tangles.
- Rinse completely. Leftover shampoo residue causes skin irritation and makes the coat feel dull and heavy.
- Apply conditioner — and leave it in briefly. Let your conditioner sit for 2–3 minutes before rinsing so it can penetrate the coat shaft.
